Role & Professional Background
As Chief Operating Officer, Parker Thane is the heartbeat of Moss Utilities’ daily operations. But his connection to the company goes deeper than a job title. Parker was the first employee hired outside of the original ownership team, following Garrett Moss from their previous company to help build Moss Utilities from scratch.
His journey to the C-Suite is the definition of “earning your stripes.” As discussed in his episode of Too Big To Fail, Parker’s career began on the road, living out of hotel rooms and grinding through the early days of the industry. That experience gave him an unshakeable respect for the men and women in the field—because he has been there since day one.
The “Relentless Push”
Parker is known within the company for his mentorship, particularly his ability to identify and elevate talent from within. He is often credited with providing the “relentless push” that helps team members break through their own ceilings.
He champions a culture where “good enough” is the enemy of great. By challenging his teams to take ownership and mature as leaders, he has helped build an operations machine that is as disciplined as it is dynamic. For Parker, the ultimate win isn’t just a completed project; it’s seeing a laborer grow into a foreman, or a foreman grow into a superintendent.
Field Focused, Future Driven
Parker’s mandate as COO is clear: ensure that the operational reality matches the strategic vision. He bridges the gap between the high-level goals of the company and the practical execution in the dirt. He is fiercely protective of the Moss culture, ensuring that as the company scales, it never loses the “family feel” that makes it unique.
Life Beyond the Jobsite
When he isn’t driving operational excellence, Parker is focused on his own home team. He is a devoted husband to his wife, Kelsey, and a proud father to their three daughters.
Whether he is cheering on his girls or spending time outdoors, Parker believes that the hard work put in during the week is all about providing a better life for the family waiting at home. He carries that perspective into his leadership, understanding that every employee at Moss is working for their own family, too.
