Role & Professional Background
Since joining Moss Utilities in 2021, Matt Senter has become a cornerstone of the company’s operational leadership. Starting as a Project Manager and rapidly ascending to Division Manager and now Director of Project Management, Matt’s trajectory is defined by a relentless drive for growth and a deep understanding of the utilities landscape.
Matt’s career began in 2016 as a Junior Estimator, giving him a granular understanding of the business from the bottom up. Today, he leads a robust team of Assistant Project Managers, PMs, Senior PMs, and Project Executives. Working hand-in-hand with General Superintendents on the Operations Leadership Team, Matt ensures that the bridge between the office and the field is built on clear communication and mutual respect.
A Coach’s Mindset
Before leading teams in construction, Matt was leading teams on the ice. A former competitive hockey player and coach at Dallas Baptist University for five years, Matt brings a coaching mentality to the corporate world.
He is deeply passionate about mentorship, viewing his role not just as managing projects, but as developing people. He strives to cultivate an environment where his team can grow, learn, and take ownership of their careers. For Matt, success is a team sport, and he is dedicated to ensuring every member of his department has the tools and support they need to win.
Technical Expertise & Industry Leadership
Matt is a relationship-driven leader who understands that strong ties with vendors, subcontractors, and clients are the lifeblood of the industry. Beyond his daily operations, he is actively involved in the construction community through the TEXO Young Constructors Council (YCC) and the TEXO Emerging Professionals Group.
Crucially, Matt holds the RME-U (Responsible Managing Employee – Underground) license for the State of Texas Fire Marshal’s Licensing Board. Alongside Garrett Moss, this qualification authorizes Moss Utilities to perform critical fire line installations and servicing, expanding the company’s technical capabilities.
Family & Field
When he isn’t strategizing with his team or navigating complex projects, Matt is dedicated to his “home team”—his wife and their three children. A true outdoorsman and sports enthusiast, he spends his weekends hunting, playing golf, or enjoying sports with his family.
