Q: What is your job here at Moss? What are the main responsibilities of your position?
A: I am a foreman with Moss. My responsibilities are to make sure that all of my guys are working safely. I also keep productivity going as planned, and ensure that we’re doing high-quality work at all times.
Q: What challenges do you encounter on a regular basis?
A: We come across a lot of different challenges, but we always get through them. Nothing is impossible when you have strong crews like we do.
Q: What were you doing in your career before joining Moss?
A: I worked for a few different construction companies before coming here. I was an operator for 15 years at one company, and I worked as a foreman for another. I’ve managed to get a lot of work experience in our industry throughout the years.
Q: What do you enjoy about your job?
A: I honestly enjoy everything about being a foreman. This is what I do. I really feel satisfied every time we finish a project.
Q: What makes Moss such a great company to work for?
A: I like the family culture here at Moss. I appreciate how they take care of their people here, and it’s definitely a place where you can move up. I’d say it’s the best company I’ve ever worked for.
Q: How do you think our industry can recruit a younger generation?
A: I think the industry should show young guys how much of a difference you can make every day for our society, and also how much money you can make. Those two things could make construction more interesting for young people.
Q: Who do you look up to in your career?
A: I really look up to Parker Thane, our general superintendent. I’ve seen him move up through the company, and I’m impressed by what a hard worker he is. He’s an inspiration to me.
Q: How do you like to spend your free time when you’re not at work?
A: I like spending time with my family. I believe that family is the most important thing in life. I also like riding my horse. I’m really into horseback riding because it helps me release my stress from the week.
